Monmouth Archdeacon move
THE VEN. Kenneth Sharpe, Archdeacon of Newport, in Monmouth diocese, since 1997, and Canon of St Woolos’s Cathedral, Newport, since 1994, will retire on 4 July.
His successor as Archdeacon of Newport is to be the Ven. Glyndwr Hackett, Archdeacon of Monmouth since 2001, and Rector of Mamhilad with Monkswood and Glascoed Chapel, in Monmouth diocese, since 2003. Mr Hackett will be succeeded in both those posts by the Revd Richard Pain, Vicar of Monmouth with Overmonnow with Wonastow with Michel Troy, and Canon of St Woolos’s Cathedral, since 2003, and Diocesan Warden of Ordinands since 2001.
