THE Christian Resources Exhibition in Cardiff, at the end of
last month, was the first "one-day road-show version" to take place
in Wales. It was also the first to have a seminar in Welsh: led by
Arfon Jones, its subject was Mary Jones, who, aged 15, who walked
25 miles across the Welsh mountains to Bala, in 1800, to buy a
Bible.
Each exhibitor was allowed only the same size of stand, costing
£300, which meant that 60 stands could be accommodated comfortably
in the new All Nations Centre. Five hundred visitors attended over
the six-hour opening.
Many exhibitors were regulars, but some were particular to
Wales, such as those from the Welsh Christian Party, who engaged
everyone in lively conversation; and the group of Welsh singers
Sound of Wales, who led worship at lunchtime and in the
afternoon.
The Archbishop of Wales, Dr Barry Morgan, conducted a
pre-opening service for the exhibitors.
