Celestial woollies: Mary Jane Montgomerie's
installation Inspiration and Meaning, in St Mary's, Swaffham
Bulbeck, Cambridgeshire, was inspired by textile art depicting the
seven planets represented in Gustav Holst's The Planets, suspended
above the composer's grand piano, in his house in Cheltenham. The
840 pompoms suspended in St Mary's nave signify the population
of Swaffham Bulbeck, while overflow pompoms on twigs and window
ledges represent people who "travel through" St Mary's from
surrounding areas
