THE new Chancellor of the diocese of Sheffield is to be Her Honour Judge Singleton QC, Deputy Chancellor. She succeeds the Worshipful David McClean QC, who has been Chancellor since 1992.

THE Ven. John Rawlings, Archdeacon of Totnes, in Exeter diocese, since 2006, and Prebendary of Exeter Cathedral since 1999, will retire on 30 September. Before his present appointments, he had served in the diocese since 1992, and before that had been a Royal Navy Chaplain since 1976.
