Unwise decision on St Faith’s, Great Crosby

From Mr Eric Salisbury

Sir, - As a member of the congregation at St Faith's, Great Crosby (News, 24 January), I can understand that the recent Bishop's Visitation received coverage in the Church Times, but I fail to see what point there was in the diocese's putting out a general press release.

The local media, particularly, have provided sensational front-page coverage. This has been a source of embarassment and humiliation to the innocent, and can have been only damaging to the Church in general: neither a wise move nor a Christian act.
