Praise for Pilgrim: the Archbishop of Canterbury has hailed
the discipleship course Pilgrim as "exactly what we
needed" at a celebration, which included a special cake to
mark the launch of the last set of resources in the course,
writes Tim Wyatt. Speaking last week between
sessions of the General Synod, Archbishop Welby said that the
Pilgrim resources tied in with a new emphasis on
discipleship and witness, discussed at the Synod and led by a
report from the Bishop of Sheffield, Dr Steven
Croft. "[Pilgrimage] is happening on a greater scale even than
at any time during the Middle Ages," the Archbishop said. "My
prayer is that those who are on the Pilgrim course will
find . . . themselves burning with the fire of encountering the
living Lord Jesus Christ."
