Details of the “White Alleluia” chasuble, from an exhibition of embroidered liturgical vestments by Helena Wintour (b. 1600), at Auckland Castle, Co. Durham. Mistress Wintour was the daughter and niece of three Wintour brothers who were executed in 1606 for their part in the Gunpowder Plot the previous year.
