From Canon David Kitley

Sir, — Thank you for highlighting the threat of famine in central Tanzania (News, 23 October). The parish churches of the diocese of Rochester have this year raised more than £26,000 towards relief for those affected by this after the rains largely failed last December-January. We have the joy and privilege of being partnered with two dioceses there, Mpwapwa and Kondoa.
