A prayer service is held for the olives and land of Cremisan Valley, Bethlehem. Katherine Fox, a Methodist currently in the Southern West Bank, monitoring human rights for the World Council of Churches, is encouraging Christians to write to church leaders, drawing their attention to the fact that construction of the Separation Barrier in the Cremisan Valley is almost complete. Last month, bishops attempting to visit the Christian community there were stopped by Israeli soldiers, who are attempting to build the barrier (News, 22 January)
