Medals, including the Victoria Cross, awarded to First World War naval commander Gordon Campbell are being sold at auction by the Anglican mission and development charity The Fellowship of St John Trust Association, and are expected to fetch about £300,000. Campbell was awarded the honours for a series of naval missions 100 years ago, when he repeatedly sunk German submarines by tricking them into attacking his heavily-armed ships while posing as defenceless merchant vessels
