Bishop to retire

THE Rt Revd Dr David Thomson, Suffragan Bishop of Huntingdon, in Ely diocese, since 2008, is to retire in the autumn. A farewell service for him, and his wife, Jean, will be held at Ely Cathedral on 23 September. Before his consecration, he was Archdeacon of Carlisle, from 2002.

 

ASCOUGH. The Revd Susan Ascough, Associate Priest in the Cannings and Redhorn Team Ministry, remaining Chaplain of HM Prison Erlestoke (Salisbury).

BOYNS. The Revd Timothy Boyns, Vicar of Hessle (York): 30 September.

BREWER. The Revd Susan Brewer, Rural Dean of Gravesend, remaining Vicar of Milton-Next-Gravesend (Rochester).

COPPEN. The Revd Colin Coppen, Interim Priest of Christ Church with St Mary Magdalene, Munster Square (London): 5 August.

DAVIES. The Revd Stephen Davies, Minister of Abbeydale Local Ecumenical Partnership (Gloucester): 28 July.

EVANS. The Revd Nigel Evans, Team Rector in the Bucknall Team Ministry, and Rural Dean of Stoke-upon-Trent (Lichfield): 30 June.

GRANGE. The Revd Margery Grange, Priest-in-Charge of St Agnes’s, Middlesbrough, and Chaplain of South Tees Hospital NHS Foundation Trust: 23 July.

HEPPER. The Revd Michael Hepper, Area Dean of Wensley, remaining Priest-in-Charge of Leyburn with Bellerby, and Hon. Canon of Ripon Cathedral (Leeds): 31 May.

MATTHEWS. The Revd William Matthews, Interim Team Rector in the Wigan Team Ministry (Liverpool).

MOUGHTIN. The Revd Ross Moughtin, Vicar of Christ Church, Aughton, and Canon Diocesan (Liverpool), becoming Canon Emeritus of Liverpool Cathedral.

SEWELL. The Revd Andrew Sewell, Rector of Redmarley D’Abitot, Bromesberrow, Pauntley, Upleadon, Oxenhall, Dymock, Donnington, Kempley and Preston (Gloucester): 29 July (diocesan correction).

STEWART. The Revd James Stewart, Rural Dean of Tunbridge Wells, remaining Vicar of St James’s, Tunbridge Wells, and Hon. Canon of Rochester Cathedral (Rochester).

TAYLOR. The Revd Dr David Taylor, NSM of Holy Trinity, Formby, and Altcar (Liverpool).

TOMLINSON. The Revd David Tomlinson, Vicar of West Holloway (London): 31 July.

Correction. The Revd Margot Spencer, NS Assistant Curate of Busbridge and Hambledon (Guildford), has not resigned as stated on 20 April, but remains in post. Guildford diocese apologises for the error.
