Resignations and retirements

Dean retires

THE Very Revd David Brindley, Dean of Portsmouth Cathedral, in that diocese, since 2002, will retire on 31 July. Before that post, he had been Team Rector in the Warwick Team Ministry, in Coventry dio­cese, since 1994, and before that Principal of the West of England Ministerial Training Course, and Hon. Canon of Gloucester Cathe­dral, since 1992. He had previously held posts in Chelmsford, Lei­cester, and Gloucester dioceses.

 

Archdeacon retires

The Ven. Dennis Wight, Arch­deacon of St Davids, in that dio­cese, since 2013, and Diocesan Warden of Ordinands and Priest-in-Charge of Wiston with Walton East, since 2015, will retire on 28 February. Before his present ap­­pointments, he had held posts in Salisbury, Birmingham, Lichfield, Worcester, and St Davids dioceses.

 

AVERY. The Revd Julian Avery, Vicar of Berkeley with Wick, Bread­stone, Newport, Stone, Wood­ford and Hill (Gloucester): 16 April.

BLOOMFIELD. The Revd Susan Bloomfield, Diocesan Chaplain among Deaf People (Southwell & Not­­tingham), and Mission Chaplain among Deaf People (Derby).

CHILD. The Revd Dr David Child, Hon. Team Vicar in the Maelor Mission Area, and Canon of St Asaph Cathedral (St Asaph): 1 April.

DARCH. The Revd Dr John Darch, Diocesan Director of Ordinands, and of Initial Ministerial Education 2 (Years 4-7) (Blackburn): 26 March.

EARL. The Revd Stephen Earl, Rural Dean of Lavenham, remaining Rector of Lavenham with Preston St Mary (St Edmundsbury & Ipswich).

GREENWOOD. The Revd Sharon Greenwood, NS Assistant Curate (As­sistant Priest) of Welling (South­­wark): 2 April.

HADFIELD. The Revd Professor Brigid Hadfield, house-for-duty Priest-in-Charge of Harston with Hauxton and Newton (Ely): 5 April.

HADLEY. The Revd John Hadley, Rector of Holy Trinity, Horfield, and Hon. Canon of Bristol Cathedral (Bristol).

HOWARD. The Revd Calvin Howard, Vicar of Copp with Inskip (Black­­burn).

MACLEOD. The Revd John Mac­leod, NS Associate Priest of St John the Evangelist, Annan, of St John the Evangelist, Eastriggs, of All Saints’, Gretna, of All Saints’, Loc­ker­bie, and of St John the Evangelist, Moffat (Glasgow & Galloway).

RYAN. The Revd Stephen Ryan, Team Rector in Neath Rectorial Benefice, Priest-in-Charge of Llan­­sawel, Briton Ferry, and Canon Treasurer of Llandaff Cathedral (Llandaff): 8 April.

SAVILLE. The Revd Edward Saville, Area Dean of Pendle, remaining Lead Officer of the Diocesan Board for Social Responsibility, and Hon. Canon of Blackburn Cathedral (Black­­­burn).

SMITH. The Revd Michael Smith, Vicar of Nailsworth with Short­­wood, Horsley and Newington Bag­path with Kingscote, and Area Dean
of Stroud (Gloucester): 20 February.

TRATHEN. The Revd Paul Trathen, Priest-in-Charge of St Andrew’s, Leytonstone, remaining Vicar of St Peter in the Forest, Walthamstow, and Chaplain of the Forest School, Snaresbrook (Chelmsford).

TULLOCH. The Revd Richard Tulloch, Rural Dean of Brampton, and Team Rector in the Eden, Gelt and Irthing Team Ministry (Carl­­isle): 5 April.

WIGHT. The Revd Sian Wight, NS Associate Priest of Daugleddau and Focal Minister of St Mary’s, Wiston (St Davids).

WILCOCK. The Revd Terence Wilcock, house-for-duty Vicar of Patterdale (Carlisle): 16 April.

WILSON. The Revd Timothy Wilson, Area Dean of Ashford: 31 January, remaining Team Vicar in the Ashford Town Team Ministry, and Hon. Canon of Canterbury Cathedral (Canterbury).

WOOD. The Revd Ronald Wood, house-for-duty Assistant Priest of the Camelot Parishes (Bath & Wells): 28 February.
