A Vincent Black Shadow motorcycle owned by the late the Revd Robert Edward Hampson, who was Vicar of Holy Trinity, Hermon Hill, in Wanstead, is the centrepiece of a collection of 12 motorcycles due to be sold by the specialist auctioneers H&H Classics, on 9 November, for an estimated £140,000. Mr Hampson, who died in May, aged 59, was an avid rider and collector (Gazette,18 May). His collection features two Sunbeams, a Royal Enfield, a BSA, and a rare 1938 Sunbeam Model A26, estimated to sell for £8000 to £9000. The Vincent Black Shadow is estimated to sell for £40,000 to £50,000. See gallery for more images
