Doncaster retirement
THE Rt Revd Peter Burrows, Suffragan Bishop of Doncaster, in Sheffield diocese, since 2012 is to retire on 30 September. He was Acting Bishop of Sheffield during the vacancy after Dr Steven Croft’s translation to Oxford, in 2016.
Bishop Burrows was ordained priest in 1984, and served in Bradford and Leicester dioceses before his appointment as Archdeacon of Leeds from 2005 to 2012.
Before ordination, he was a nursing assistant at Derbyshire Royal Infirmary and then a clerical officer at the Department of Health and Social Security.
