Dean retires
THE Very Revd Michael Tavinor, Dean of Hereford since 2002, is to retire on 28 February. Dean Tavinor was ordained priest in 1983 and, before his move to Hereford, served in London, Ely, and Gloucester dioceses. At Hereford, he has overseen several large conservation projects. He has also written several books on saints and shrines, including Thomas de Cantilupe and St Ethelbert; and Pilgrim Guides to both Hereford Cathedral and Tewkesbury Abbey, where he served as Vicar from 1999 to 2002.
