The Archbishop of Westminster, Cardinal Vincent Nichols, assisted by the Canon Theologian of Westminster Abbey, the Revd Dr Jamie Hawkey, blesses with holy water the private chapel of the medieval Crosby Moran Hall, in London, during a service of dedication held on Monday of last week. Once owned by St Thomas More, the Hall was originally a Tudor palace, and has been rebuilt and restored over a 35-year period by the philanthropist Dr Christopher Moran. The service fulfilled a long-standing wish of Dr Moran to unite two denominations under one roof, and reflects his work to build peace between Catholics and Protestants in Ireland, through his position, over nearly 20 years, as chairman of Co-operation Ireland, an all-Ireland peace-building organisation
