Banners from across the north-east went on display in Durham Cathedral this week to mark the 40th anniversary of the Miners’ Strike of 1984-85. The 40 colourful banners are part of an exhibition, “Solidarity Forever: Banners of the Durham Mining Community”, that celebrates the resilience and heritage of County Durham’s mining communities. The exhibition continues until 7 November
