Ipswich post
THE next Archdeacon of Ipswich, in St Edmundsbury & Ipswich diocese, is to be the Revd Samantha Brazier-Gibbs, Vicar of Blackmore and Stondon Massey, in Chelmsford diocese, since 2015, and an Hon. Canon of Chelmsford Cathedral.
Canon Brazier-Gibbs, who is a former sports therapist, trained for ministry at Ridley Hall, Cambridge, and was ordained deacon in 2006. She served her title in Chelmsford diocese and was a Pioneer Minister in Harlow, Church Langley, Fyfield, and Chipping Ongar.
She will take up post in June, succeeding the Rt Revd Rhiannon King, who is now Suffragan Bishop of Southampton, in Winchester diocese (News, 20 September 2024). One of her responsibilities will be to support the diocese’s Inspiring Ipswich Project, now in its final stages.
