A Spanish polychromed walnut relief panel from the second half
of the 16th century, depicting the nativity, was auctioned for
£68,500 on 3 December. It is thought to be the work of a Castillian
sculptor.
A bas-relief of the Virgin and Child, thought to be by the
Venetian sculptor Antonio Rizzi (1430-99), sold for £218,500 at the
same sale.
